I hear interQuest is the best.

The human mind ordinarily operates at only ten percent of its
capacity -- the rest is overhead for the operating system.
Are you saying he's not going to find one better than his current
one? (Look at his e-mail address. He's already using interQuest.)
Despite some initial complaints about HiWAAY's advertising practices,
I've heard good things about them. I've been happy with interQuest
until recently. Their response time to e-mail seems to have increased
greatly lately. Perhaps they need more sysadmins?

I saw a post which referenced a WWW page which has links (all?) of the HSV
providers. Dont remember the URL though. I think it there are several
actually/ I think I quest maintains on and some guy as HiWAAY.
You can check out http://www.ro.com/info/cust_serv.html#sales_info for

I recommend Nuance Networking (j...@nuance.com for info). Costs
are competitive, and service was great. (Upper management required
a change to a service provider with a "national presence", so we
now pay about twice as much for a 56Kb line as we were paying for
a 64Kb line.)
I don't profit from Nuance, etc.

Well, Nuance is now being assimilated by hiWAAY. (Received notification
in the mail today.) Looks like I'm in the market for a new provider, too.

I heard about an hour ago. Move my files to work; I know one account
there that won't last long....
Well, there's garply, traveler, or cici, I guess. (I know about the
others; I've already decided against them.)
It was *truly* a suprise to me. I expected a shakeout, but I also
expected Nuance to be one of the survivors. Good thing I don't handle
investments; if I was that far off, everyone would be broke in no time.

I think I need to clarify something here--
My comment about not handling investments was intended to denigrate
*my own judgement*, i.e., my predictions were way off. It was not in
any way intended to imply that Keith hadn't done well with Nuance. I
hold Keith, Charles, and what they accomplished at Nuance in very high
regard; they did well, and worked their tails off doing it.
Just wanted to make that clear.

Garply (aka Net Results) are indeed taking subscriptions right now. We
sometimes close our books in order to maintain a low loading of
users:modems, but having just added a few more lines we have some
headroom.
We can be reached at 539 4583, or mail gar...@garply.com.
We may be a little more expensive than the rest (by about $5 a month), but
that's because we have a technical staff with over 35 years of combined
networking and admin experience. As of the end of August this will jump
to 50 years, when we are joined by an old colleague and friend of mine who
is currently Senior Systems Admin for the whole of Credit Suisse's
European network ...

I think you'll find that's "Mister" head UNIX/IP/UDP/Mac/Perl/LISP/C
techno-weenie-bigot ... or at least, that's what my business card says.
So ... when is perl 5.x due out for NT?

Okay, so Nuance will shortly be HiWAAY, and there are lots of differing
opinions on all the others. When you've checked out the others, stop
by and check out us.

That's "head UNIX/IP/Mac/Perl techno-weenie" to you, hippo...
I'll stick to Alphas & NT... ;^) (They call me "Mister NT", Timon!)

I'm impressed. It only took 6 months to port to NT ...
[Just don't ask me when it may be available for Macs, that would be below
the belt]
