I remember when Google's "gmail" came out a lot of folks thought it was cool
to be invited to join and happy to never having to delete their emails. I
declined several gmail invitations having some idea of Google's data mining
possibilities. From what I have read, Google keeps all search data and
emails. Most users have no idea how much Google knows about them. Google
claims to "anonymize" search data after 18 months if that makes you feel
better.

I can't fathom how many terabytes of storage they must have and add to every
day with gmail, Google searches and YouTube.

I hope that no one important is writing to my gmail or yahoo addresses.
They are just spam magnets.
