California State University, Chico is working in collaboration with
Butte Community College on Focus the Nation in Northern California.
Together we are organizing students during weekly brown-bag lunches to
approach professors about hosting teach-ins and student organizations
about how to get involved. Chico State's This Way to Sustainability
III Conference is going to host a Focus the Nation session and
encourage people to "save the date" for Focus the Nation in January by
providing guests with buttons. We are also connecting to the K-12
schools in our area by visiting schools and providing information on
how they can get involved. Organizing a Town Hall is also in the
works.
The Town Hall will provide a space for students and community members
to discuss their concerns about global climate change with political
officials in the same room to listen and respond to concerns. The
result of the Town Hall will be an itemized list of the public's
concerns that will be handed to officials at the end of the event.

I received a note from Dr. Pulliam saying that for personal reasons
she wished to step down as the club's advisor. I would be willing to
take on that role, at least for the time being.
Best,
Gregg
