Hi all
FTN'ers,
Our teach-in day on
January 30th is shaping up and so is the
Town Hall Meeting.
The Arcata City Council
will be hosting the Town Hall meeting from the City Council chambers.
People can come to City Hall but it will also be broadcast on access
Channel 12 and people will be able to call in and we can arrange places
throughout the community where people can gather to watch
it.
We will have
local government officials sharing the stage with several students all
talking about their global warming solution priorites. (We are
looking for students to be panelists - contact us!)
Hopefully Mike Thompson
and maybe the Senators will be there for some part of it via video
conferencing.
This will be a great
chance to voice our opinions to our leaders!
Thanks, the HSU

If
your U.S. Senators or Congresspeople can’t be there in person, that is no
excuse. Focus the Nation is partnering with SightSpeed and
working with Congress to set up video dialogues. Your elected rep can open up a
lap-top in Washington D.C., and have a carbon-free, round-table discussion with
your packed campus auditorium.
We are
still sixty days out, and Focus the Nation is rocking across America.
