"I have been told it is okay to let you know that USITT has notified
me that I am to receive a Distinguished Achievement Award for
Education at the 2014 Conference and Stage Expo. For any of you who
may have helped to support my nomination I want to say thank you. I am
deeply honored and humbled by this selection and was told that the
education commissioners were especially pleased in that this will be
the first award given to a high school educator. None of this would
have been possible without the support of my friends, colleagues,
students and especially my family. Thanks!"
