We wish you and your family a very Happy New Year.
April 6th will be the beginning of new year for many Hindus. You may know it as Gudi Padwa, or Yugadi

Why do we celebrate it? Among many reasons ...
It signifies the beginning of the 52nd century after the end of the great Mahabharat war between the Pandavas and the Kauravas, in which the Pandavas had emerged  victorious.

This day marks the beginning of the great era of King Shalivahana in Indian history.
It reminds us of the leadership qualities of the two famous Kings (Shalivahana & Vikramaditya).
Bhagwan Rama was Crowned King upon his return from Vanvas.
The period symbolizes the important task of safeguarding the Hindu's freedom and sovereignty, which was carried out by these kings and the Pandavas.
This day marks the Loka sangraha (the coming together of our people) to give Loka Sanskaar (enthronement of good qualities) for Loka Kalyaan (the welfare of the world).
In our Hindu tradition, this is the first day in which we pray for noble thoughts from all sides and seek divine intervention to bring harmony, prosperity, blessedness and liberation to the entire universe.
Therefore, today we must vow, to continue to aim for a Hindu Society that is strong, dedicated, disciplined and organized so as to destroy the various evils corroding our social life ...

A unique feature of the Hindu is to recognize unity in diversity and appreciate and strive for a harmonious synthesis among nations. So it is imperative that the Hindu should realize his world mission and reorganize himself for it. And it is this task of reorganizing the Hindu society that the Sangh has taken upon itself. History has recorded that generation after generation of thinkers and philosophers; seers and sages strive to unravel the mysteries of human nature and propagate the spirit of unity. In these centuries Hindus have strove to create all-round peace and harmony. A succession of aggressions, long years of subjugation and centuries of toil have not exhausted us; rather they have honed our skills and helped us adapt ourselves to the changing times with our feet firmly on the ground that forms our ideals.
