Sukhmani sahib was given to us by Guru Arjan Dev Ji. It has been said that Guru Arjan Dev ji was sitting near Ramsar Sarowar at an isolated place and peaceful place at Amritsar. He was reflecting on the spiritual destruction caused by Kalyug on the people in this world. The sangat requested Guru Arjan Dev Ji for a way to escape the fearful effect of Kalyug on humanity. At their request, one morning, Guru ji wrote Sukhmani sahib near the Sarowar Ramsar.

Therefore, the main purpose of why Sukhmani sahib was composed by Guru Arjan Dev Ji was to bring fearless ness to his Sikhs and to free them away from spiritual destruction. Many Sikhs cannot keep a steady path to God since the five evils (lust, anger, greed, worldly attachment and ego) and maya are always plotting ways to cause a downfall in to the sikh on their journey to God. The reason for this is because it is either they or our soul that will govern this body, each and every second there is a constant battle with them through the mind. Our spiritual destruction is ultimately caused when we forget God because that is when evil has lurked in our mind. God is all love and truth and any other thought or action that was not done in the remembrance of God was evil which disconnected us from God.

I dont know how to do path but ive been going through some horrible stages in my life and i remember when this happened to my mum she did the 40 day sukmani sahib part and her life has competely changed better then better if you ask me. I downloaded it on my iphone and also translated into english so i can least follow and listen carefully im hoping by the end of the 40 day part not only will i know it but better me as a person and cure all my health problems. I know it will work as i believe in the guru and he has made my other wishes come true. I recently slipped so i think baba ji is punishing me and then make me better now then what i was before.

I'm also planning to do the 40 day Sukhmani sahib Path... I will try doing it in the beat way I can. .. but can you help me with how I should do this path .. and did you get peace and your wish came true ? I'm going through a tough phase in my life .. so want to do this.

Yes sukhmani sahib obviously help to get rid from all the problems and griefs.I started while I was in school and everything which I desired.now a days I m slipped little from sukhmani sahib and trying to come again in the lifht.

    Surely Sukhmani Sahib paath can be recited to a sick person. If you scroll through old saakhis, it will be evident that how beneficial It can be for someone in disease.
