Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa,
       Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

Guru Arjan Dev Ji's Shaheedi Gurpurab is on June 16th 2012. 

As discussed today, we can plan for Chabeel on 17th June (Sunday) between 8AM - 12 Noon either at 27th Main or 24th Main, HSR Layout. 

Following are the items which will be required -
  1. Big Drums (No. 2-3)
  2. 70-100 plastic glasses
  3. 10-12 Trays (for serving)
  4. 2-3 big Tables
  5. Table covers
  6. Tent to cover the Chabeel area
  7. Water Tanker
  8. Milk (25 ltrs?)
  9. Roo-af-za (10-12 bottles)
  10. Posters of Guru Arjan Dev Ji along with the description in English (Kanada?)
This may not be complete list.

Please share your thoughts/ideas to make this happen.

NOTE: We also need to get approval from key stakeholders for the area where we plan for Chabeel.

Awesome idea. I,d vote for 24th main. Its more central with folks moving across hsr. We might need some local permission.

I guess the kannada translation is a must. The masses wud understand and appreciate. Also, it meets the whims of the locals; the few who might try n politicise.

Look fwd to contributing n participating in this sewa.

1. Sugar (20 KG ??)
2. Vim
3  Jugs
4  Couple of clean cloth piece to cover Drums

Yes completely agree.
How are we deciding to arrange this? Somebody takes responsibility of a particular item(s) or we pool in money and divide the total expense?

We can have Deepinder Singh as a "project manager" for this. We can
track the progress on weekly basis.

Thanks Barjinder Ji for nominating me. But I think every individual is self manage you don't really need a Project Manager ;-) Let's all do this uparaala together :) If needed I can a project manager as suggested. 

My recommendation is not to have individual for specific item(s) rather let's work on the complete cost and then divide among ourselves. 

Also, I have not heard any comments/suggestions on the date and time from this group. Could you please confirm if the day/time works for all?

Here is the list of items (including from Ranjit's mail) required for Chabeel -

  2. Big pipe or buckets to fill drums
  3. 70-100 plastic glasses
  4. 4-5 Jugs
  1. 10-12 Trays (for serving)
  2. 2-3 big Tables
  3. Table covers
  4. Tent to cover the Chabeel area
  1. Few chairs in the stall
  1. Water Tanker
  2. Milk (25 ltrs?)
  3. Roo-af-za (10-12 bottles)
  4. Posters of Guru Arjan Dev Ji along with the description in English (Kanada?
  1. Sugar (Need to know how much to add in 25ltr Milk)
  2. Vim (to wash glasses etc.)

    Deepinder,

    Date is fine, may be we have to increase the time till 2pm or 3pm. Let's think about the place... what you think about 24th main road near MK retail...

    I am good with cost division as well, in that case let's ask everyone who all wants to participate. We can discuss in more detail when we will meet on 5th May.

    Add one more item "ICE".

    Hi,

    Yes, i agree with cost div too.

    There.s a clean spot nr mk, i.e in front of sbt bank; diagonally opp the tender coconut stall.

    Maintaining cleanliness will be key to drawing crowds. Also we req these:
    - clean water
    - dustbins
    - hard brooms

    We are ok with the date and time.  Please relook on the number of glasses.  We feel this is too low for the kind of qty and time slot we are looking at.

    I have created a file for rough estimate. Some of the expense, i have just assumed. Please go through the same and modify as needed.

    I estimate that the cost may go by up 15-20%, please budget 15-20% high.
    Lets start the contribution. Do let me know whom/where to give the money.

    Shaheedi Gurpurab is on 25th May, this has been announced today at Ulsoor Gurudwara. In that case, we have to plan chabeel on 27th May (Sunday).

    Yes you are right. Gurpurab is on 25th May.

    Will discuss more in detail on 5th May (Paath Program).
