Staff ----Storage vVols
Job Description:
We are looking for a creative,
independent, self-motivated individual who is willing to learn new technology
and be part of the VMware storage team to work on VMware's new storage
operational model centered on Virtual Machines called vVols (Virtual Volumes).
vVols enable software-based data
services by integrating with vSphere API's and change the way how VM's are
stored and managed in the VMware Software-Defined Storage model.
In this position you will be
responsible for architecting, developing, maintaining test automation for
functional verification of the vVols and vSphere Storage specific features,
work closely with development, product management teams and other stakeholders
to design, develop, validate new features, help investigate customer issues to
debug and validate the fix.
This is a highly technical role
and the desired candidate should be well versed with storage Protocols, Storage
domain knowledge, virtualization technologies, File/Block and Object storage
architectures, test framework development, and one or more programming
languages.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the engineering team for new feature design,
implementation and debugging issues.
- Own product areas and track test deliverables as per
product release schedule.
- Develop test methodology (designing the test approach)
to test the feature end-to-end.
- Test Plan and Automation framework development.
- Automate new feature test cases end to end along with
the execution and maintenance of existing regression test suites.
- Analyze failures and root cause issues, file defects,
follow up for closure and documentation.
- Monitor and manage continuous integration environments
in Jenkins Pipeline.
- Continually increase test code efficiency and lower
cycle times.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders, developers,
Ecosystem engineers, technical writers to support them and ensure the
company delivers high-quality products to our customers.
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience in validation and debugging on at
least one of the Storage protocols [SCSI, FC, iSCSI, NFS, NVMe].
- Experience working with any Object Storage architecture
and exposure to VMWare ESXi storage stack, storage solutions on WSFC and
VMware VAAI, VVOLs, vSAN etc.
- Strong programming skills and several years of test
automation framework development experience using Java, Python or C/C++.
- Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving
skills with the ability to work independently.
- Domain expertise in virtualization and storage
technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities spanning multiple
software and hardware components (such as storage systems, kernels and
management platforms etc..)
- Hands-on product development experience in the storage
domain and TestNG framework is a plus.
Qualification:
- BE/BTech from a reputed university with 7 -9 years of
industry experience or MS in Computer Science with 6-8years of industry
experience.
