Important Changes--Saturday Soccer

Hi all,

 

Yesterday our soccer game was stopped by UT police. The policeman explained that the UT rec center staff called them and requested us to leave.

The policy is that we can NOT use the field without reserving with the office, even for the outside filed. So most of us car pooled to Rice University and had a good game there.

 

For field reservation, the cost is $25 per hour for current UT rec center member, which mean we need to pay $50 every time if we exactly follow the rule.

I personally think it does not worth it, and we can go Rice for better field with no extra cost. From next Saturday let's go Rice for soccer. There is a limited space for parking, so car pool is encouraged. Maybe we can still meet at the UT field and go together from there.

 

If you still prefer UT field, please reply and let's see if we have enough people to stay at UT field. I include my cell phone no. here and please call me if you need direction or any further information about the location.

rice的趴位确实比较难找，而且要停很远才行。还有一个选择是不是可以改到周五晚上踢呢？ 以前周五都有ut的graduate school 出钱，很多老外在那边踢灯光球场。我有段时间没去了，不知道现在人多么？我们占掉半个场子有没有问题？如果可以 的话，他们每周五能否踢都会发广告。万一有时不踢，大家可以改到周六去rice.

再有就是UH的周三包场，他们也有发过广告，现在我们UT的有好几个都固定过去踢。场地确实舒服，晚上也凉快，差不多每次$5的样子。还有精力的同学不妨去试一试。

现在周三的人已经比较多了，所以是偶尔去踢的话，是每次收10块。现在8，9两月还有6场，一次交清的话是5块每场，一共是30。

Buddies, I just give a few pieces of suggestion and I assume you take
all if I don't see any feedback (yes or no).

I cannot make the Wed soccer, and I remember that Yufeng/Jack/Kan went
there previously. Please direct any question to them for Wed soccer.

Friday is also a good option. The field is booked every Friday from
6:30pm-8:00pm by UT graduate student and we may be able to join them
or steal half field. I can ask the organizer to include the hsoccer
group email to his email list. But I myself cannot make it either so
please just show up if you are interested.

Thank Yufeng to take the goals last Saturday. If we will never use UT
field again and count on Rice field, let's take the goals by turn.

I prefer to play Friday rather than Sunday, either at UT or Rice for two
reasons:

1: I also play on Sunday at pearland. Playing on Friday rather than
Saturday can give me one day break.
2: At many Saturday nights, I have faced the choice between soccer game
and friends gathering. It's really a tough choice because Sat night is
also a popular choice for friends gathering.

It is true for me as well that Sat. is a party night,  I have to skip games reluctantly.
Since there are enough players at UT field on Friday anyway,  so let's just keep the Saturday's 6:30pm game in case some one is not good on Fri.

I wonder if we can donate the goals to UT graduate students in few weeks  after we confirm that we don't need it and it is a kind of burden for us.
