Has UK govt stopped issuing HSMP as per the new rule ? where can I
find the new guidelines ?

Hello Parry,

Tier 1 General (which replaced HSMP) applications from outside the UK are closed from 23/12/2010

Tier 1 General applications can be submitted within the UK till March end or till 05/04/2011 after which the scheme will close

@HSMP Office : When you say the scheme will be closed ..does that mean
in that case no one will be able to apply for the work permit ? In
order to apply for work permit you need to have the work application
fromthe employer? Kindly throw some light on the same ?

Hi, there

Tier 1 General scheme for Highly Skilled will close from April 2011 and this scheme does not need employer sponsorship

If you are asking about earlier work permit scheme which is now called Tier 2 General for Skilled Workers with employer sponsorship, it will continue but there are limits on number of applications. In this category, you need to have a UK employer having Home Office sponsor license and they should be willing to issue a sponsorship certificate
