We do not like the "open concept" community centers and Alice Lloyd and Couzens. It is confusing and inefficient and residents are confused and do not know where to go for help or if a place even exists. Also, moving community centers are a bad idea. It would be nice if it was an established place and recognizable by some sort of desk or something. I know it's supposed to be relax and open and everything, but I think it actually is doing more harm.

So, I've talked about this a bit with the people in Couzens, and I have this to say on the matter:
Generally, people living in Couzens don't seem to mind that we don't have a proper community center room, and you can reliably find residents/resStaff hanging about the area. However, residents have also commented that it is confusing for friends/relatives coming from outside the dorm, and resStaff manning the center have expressed concern that the open nature of this sort of CC could expose sensitive information being displayed on the CC computer.

Hi all - I appreciate your feedback. The newer, open community center design hopefully will offer students and staff flexibility to meet a variety of resident needs, so that each community can shape it to fit for their preferences. We are addressing the security of computer data so that should no longer be a concern. I'd love to talk more about these ideas - thanks for posting!
