After a bit of hymning and hawing, a decision has been made on this weekend's fish out,,, East Carson River at Broken Dam! The East Carson flows are suitable for a wide range of fishing technics and skill levels... and the river is quite crossable (wading staff recommended). There's also plenty of locations where you can bank fish, so suitable for folks who do not yet have wading gear. And fish have been found there recently by club members.
We'll meet at 10am at the top of Washoe Road at the raft take-out. There's large gravel bar there where we can do some river casting demonstration and clinic (10:30 - 11:00). We might even have a trout spey rod or two to play with. At 12:30 or so, we'll gather for a river side lunch (club will provide something warm) on the gravel bar. Bring a chair and your favorite drink. After lunch, scatter and fish (or not).
If you plan to attend, please reply (to me) to let us know how many to expect!
5wt rod with floating line with 4X leader/tippet will do... and standard Eastern Sierra flies. See <
https://www.hsfc.us/articles/eastern-sierra-fly-box> for suggestions. If you need to borrow a rod/reel combo, holler (a day or two in advance, please).
Valid NV fishing license required to fish!

PS: We'll do Rosaschi later in the fall. Flows still too high.
