Dear colleagues,

As announced earlier this year, the AdePT and Celeritas R&D activities addressing Monte Carlo detector detector simulations
on GPUs are organising a community meeting to present status of the prototypes, results, discuss them in the context of the current state of the art simulation applications, invite early feedback, and identify the possible future directions for our R&D.

The meeting will take place during four afternoons (15h-19h CERN time) from the 3rd to the 6th of May, and an agenda
is now available on the meeting Indico page here:

https://indico.cern.ch/event/1123314/

It will be a hybrid meeting, with in-person attendance at CERN possible, along with a Zoom connection for remote participants.
In both cases, we invite you to register through the Indico registration page and indicate whether you will attend in person or not.
This is essential so that we can plan for numbers and suitable rooms for in-person attendees at CERN.

The general topics that will be covered are: core transport algorithm and data infrastructure, geometry, physics, and integration possibilities with Geant4 and users’ frameworks. AdePT and Celeritas aim to answer whether we can run HEP particle transport in an efficient way on GPUs, with a first goal of implementing demonstrators of the electromagnetic calorimeter shower simulation, including a realistic geometry description and a set of essential electromagnetic physics processes.

If this community meeting is of interest for you, we invite you to participate and look forward to seeing you! Please feel free to
advertise the meeting to other colleagues and on relevant collaboration/experiment mailing lists.

Best regards,
