Dear colleague,

This year, the Python in HEP (PyHEP) working group of the HSF will be hosting two annual workshops:

  • July 25‒28: PyHEP.dev for Python package developers, in person at Princeton, University in Princeton, New Jersey (USA)

  • October 9‒12: PyHEP Online for everybody, as a virtual conference

PyHEP Online is a continuation of the free workshop series that has been bringing Python developers and physicists together these past five years. As in recent years, it will be an online/virtual workshop: we’ll use Zoom, Slack, and Sli.do to connect you with the speakers for live Q&A, no matter where in the world you are.

PyHEP.dev is new this year, intended for Python HEP software developers to plan convergent roadmaps for the following year. It will include presentations by participants, but the focus will be on birds-of-a-feather style group discussions. Attendance is limited to 45 participants; breakfasts, lunches, and a reception will be included in a $75 (early-bird) conference fee, and applications will open on February 15. We’ll send another email when applications open and will select participants (to maximize diversity of experiments and communities) by March 15.

We look forward to seeing you!

The PyHEP working group conveners

Oksana Shadura (IRIS-HEP, University of Nebraska)
