Dear HEPiX Community,
We are pleased to announce that the HEPiX spring 2026 workshop will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, from 20th to 24th April 2026. The workshop will be hosted by LIP and CNCA and will be held at ISCTE in Lisbon. Mark your calendars, register, and submit abstracts!
We are looking forward to a productive and informative meeting, and we encourage previous and new participants to submit abstracts and contribute to the programme.
Next to the usual tracks, we will have two dedicated topical sessions, focused on:
- Facilities Evolution (joint with OTF): aiming to explore and converge on likely directions for WLCG facility evolution, informed by ongoing developments in storage, workflow management, and resource provisioning.
- TechWatch: with contributions examining recent hardware technology developments and their cost implications for HEP computing.
Also a new track has been introduced: Applied AI in Computing Center Infrastructures. This track discusses applied AI use cases in computing centers, including intelligent automation, adaptive resource management, and decision support systems.
There will also be an interactive session "Show us your toolbox", where participants can give short demos of their favoured tools (please help us organise this session by submitting an abstract).
HEPiX workshops
have been held regularly since 1991 to bring together worldwide Information Technology staff, physicists and managers from High Energy Physics, Nuclear Physics and other science laboratories, institutes and universities such as BNL, CERN, DESY, FNAL, IN2P3, INFN, JLAB, KEK, NIKHEF, PIC, RAL, SLAC, TRIUMF, CSCS, and many other labs and universities.
The main purpose of
the HEPiX semi-annual workshops is to foster a learning and sharing experience for physicists and IT specialists in scientific high-performance and data-intensive computing disciplines.
If you have any questions,
please contact the organisers (
hepix-2026sp...@hepix.org).
We are looking forward to seeing
you in Lisbon!
