Dear colleagues,
Starting in 2025, the HSF developed a process for affiliating Projects and Software to the HSF. Affiliated Projects are reviewed by volunteers from the HSF steering and coordination groups. Projects and/or software become affiliated following a public evaluation process and according to these guidelines.
I am pleased to announce that I have completed a review of the DIRAC/DIRACX package, documented here [GDoc].
In brief, DIRAC/DIRACX is fully in line with the HSF best-practice guidelines for sustainable, open, and community-driven research software. The project is widely adopted by major collaborations, including LHCb, Belle II, GridPP, JUNO, BESIII, and CTAO, and meets all Tier 1 criteria for research software infrastructure.
You are all welcome to contribute by posting comments directly on the GDoc. The deadline for comments is May 7, 2026 to allow for a 2-week period, at which point the HSF Steering Group will do the final endorsement based on inputs received.
If you prefer to comment privately, please send the SG an email (hsf-st...@googlegroups.com). Do not hesitate to ask if you need any clarification.
Thank you all in advance!
