[Common Forum Discussion] "Responsible AI-assisted coding + training aspects" kick-off

Dear HEP software community,
[Save the date] We are hosting a kick-off discussion on "Responsible and effective AI-assisted coding, and common training aspects" on Wednesday 29th July 15h30 - 17h30 CEST:

The aim of the meeting is to
share experiences and practices with the HEP community around
responsible and effective AI-assisted coding.
Following this first exchange, we’ll then collectively work towards
developing common loose guidelines that could serve as a useful starting point
in HEP/Nuclear Physics experiments or similar communities in future.*
A second part
of the discussions will be hosted by the HSF Training group, and will
cover community training needs, existing material, and how HSF Training
can facilitate common training aspects.
We encourage
people to circulate the event within their communities, so that we
collect the perspectives from a broad range of experiments and
institutes.
As we aim to have a semi-structured discussion, the
agenda is split into several topics (discussion points) to which we
invite community representatives and individuals to contribute short
slides in advance.
Specific details on expectations for the meeting are provided on the agenda/live doc (linked to agenda).

Hi all,
A reminder of our forum discussion next week Wednesday welcome to anyone in our HEP/Nuclear Physics community interested in discussing best practices, guidelines and training aspects around AI-assisted software development.
Agenda update: We have confirmed invited talks from experts at CERN who will give us a CERN perspective on computer security, legal matters (via the legals team from Knowledge Transfer) and AI tools support. The session will kick off with a Q&A on security and legal matters with the respective people, followed by a short presentation on CERN's latest AI tools support plans (~30–40 min total). The remaining 40–50 minutes will cover our own discussion with a summary of community material, before we move on to HSF Training's plans.

Dear all,
Thanks a lot for attending and contributing to this event. We hope the material presented, collected on the agenda and the live doc, are useful references. In particular, thanks to the experiments, networks and our invited speakers who contributed some interesting material - expertise, food for thought as well as insightful surveys. I feel our insights have definitely improved over the last month.
We are in the process of distilling the discussions as well as sorting through the questions from slido, in the midst of people dispersing for August holiday breaks (hence the delay of this email, sorry). FYI, the questions are collected on a dedicated tab on the live doc, and we’ll be following up on them.
We do plan to have another forum discussion around ~3rd week of September, where we expect we’ll aim for what wasn’t quite achieved in the last forum discussion: Room for open discussion, news and experiences from further institutes/labs and, we hope, tangible actions towards common guidelines and training. More news is expected at the end of August.
