Hello, Goodbye, and Welcome Alicia!

Hello all – please bear with me as I announce my third “retirement.” It has been such a pleasure to have had the opportunity to work at the Oregon Law Center with great colleagues, a wonderful network of advocates. legislators, and providers, and all of you who have touched my life in so many positive ways. The Oregon Law Center wishes to extend our lasting gratitude to John Mullin, who is retiring (for the third time?) at the end of this week. After a long history of exemplary work as director of Clackamas County Social Services, John followed his first retirement by coming to work for OLC more than 10 years ago. I have been so lucky to have had him as a colleague, and low-income Oregonians could not have had a better advocate. As most of you know, John “retired” last year, but was then convinced to come back for the 2017 session. I’m personally grateful to John for his immense generosity in returning for the 2017 session. This time, his retirement is for real! We wish John well in what is sure to be future inspiring work, and hope he and his wife Ellen have a fantastic time on their road trip through the South in the coming months.
As we say good bye to John, we are excited to be welcoming Alicia Temple as the Oregon Law Center’s new legislative advocate! Alicia will be covering health care, human services, and budget matters for OLC. Her prior work with safety-net clinics, health policy, and legislative advocacy has reflected her deep commitment to reducing barriers facing low-income communities. Most recently, Alicia was the Deputy Director of the Coalition of Community Health Clinics. We look forward to having Alicia as a colleague!
