Greg Mengis (Team NorCal Lacrosse) sent you a message.
Hello All. A combination of our Players just got back from San Juan Capistrano. With a core of Select Team players, and a number of Freshmen from the Platinum and Blue teams, Team NorCal went 3-1-1, and had a great showing in the Cal Lax Classic. Clearly in the toughest bracket, we were probably one of the top 3 teams there out of 12. Lots of sun and lots of fun. This looks like a tourney we can plan ahead for next year and go down and dominate with our full squads at multiple age levels.
This tourney brings our HS record for the summer so far to 16-8-1. For those who went, it was a good warmup for our upcoming events. Below are some reminders about upcoming events that should be locked in on the calendar.
1) HIGH SCHOOL PRACTICES. **Wednesday, July 11, 6-8pm at Terman Middle School. 655 Arastradero in Palo Alto. **Wednesday, July
18, 6-8pm at Terman Middle School. Super important practices, especially for the players participating in the Sonoma tourneys, as these will be our final tuneups before the weekend tournaments. Attendance is key, even if you are currently doing football, and need to go light or just watch. **Sunday, July 22 (Elite Only) 5-7pm. **Wednesday, July 25, 6-8pm at Terman Middle School. Last tuneup before Tahoe Tourney, and rematch with Colorado Wild U19.
2) SONOMA ELITE SHOOTOUT. July 13-15. The schedule is still not out as of this morning, though they promised it 2 weeks before the event. Last year, games started in the 2-3pm range on Friday. Players should plan to get there between Noon and 1pm to checkin. We have most of our Denver Elite Team, with a few additions, so we are looking to have a strong performance in this tournament.
3) SONOMA HS SHOOTOUT July 20-22. The schedule is still not out as of this morning, though they
promised it 2 weeks before the event. Last year, games started in the 2-3 pm range on Friday. Players should plan to get there between Noon and 1pm to checkin. We have most of our Denver Select team, with a few additions, so we are looking to have a strong performance in this tournament.
4) TAHOE!! July 27-29. There are still some spots available, and some of you who I know are planning to go who need to register. This will be a very fun tournament, and we are looking to avenge our championship game loss last year to a stacked U19 Colorado Wild team. Please make sure to register at http://www.teamnorcal.com/, and let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks, and I look forward to seeing you out on the field!!
