If Denver and Vail did not completely exhaust you, SummerBall starts tonight.  It is really a very low stress way to play pick up on a summer night.  6-8PM tonight at Paly.  This  is NOT a Team NorCal travel team practice – our next one is this Wednesday night.  SummerBall is just a chance for probably mostly local NorCal kids who can’t get enough of the sport and want to play more to do so in a structured setting.

Registration for SummerBall is on the web site.

I also wanted to reiterate some of Greg’s comments about our performance last week in Denver and Vail.  Our teams were by far the strongest teams we have ever put on the field.  I think in Denver, we were probably the second or third best team in the entire tournament – we just happened to draw the winner Claremont in the quarterfinals.  In Vail, we came in third out of 16 teams, but we beat the runnerup FCA in the qualifier rounds (which, by the way, was the Maryland FCA team – one of Maryland’s strongest Club team and the winner of the tournament the last two years).  We beat some very strong teams along the way in both places – Dallas Select (probably Texas’s best team), Cherry Creek (#2 in Colorado this season),  and FCA among them.  We got a lot of attention from college recruiters – I know Syracuse, North Carolina, Yale, Air Force, Notre Dame, Stony Brook, St Josephs, and several other schools were very interested in several of our players.

This was a great start to what should be a great summer!

If you want to play tonight, stop by.  If not, we’ll see you Wednesday...
