Hi all,
Reminding everyone of next week's summer camp for children… probably the last one they can attend before school restarts.
It's the "MTB riding and Bike care" program.
Dates: May 22 (Mon) to May 26 (Fri), every morning at Vetal Tekdi.
Eligibility: Boys and Girls, age 11 to 16.
(Program poster is also attached)
Idea behind the program:
Our reverence for everyday objects grows if we know them intimately. A personal example is my swiss knife. I know each of its 33 functions. I know exactly which of those 33 tools to use for which purpose. And so, I've cared for it lovingly since 17 years now.
Now, a kid's mountain bike (MTB) is such an everyday object. It is often quite neglected, and under-utilised. It has several adjustable features… seat height, seat angle, brake hardness, brake angle, gears, handle-bar height, tyre pressure). And there's a science behind each. There's an optimum adjustment for each situation: like rider's height, whether the terrain is smooth or rocky, are you going uphill or downhill.
If a kid were to know all this, the engagement with the bike would be higher… in terms of riding it and caring for it. That's why, this program has two major themes BIKE RIDING and BIKE CARE.
