Check out ArtFuse's interview with playwright Jérôme Richer!
The 2nd edition of Swiss Stage presents "Barks" (Ecorces) - a contemporary drama written by Swiss Francophone playwright Jérome Richer and is directed by Guy Ben-Aharon. The text translation by Kerstin Mercer. Featuring Miranda Craigwell, Stacy Fischer* and Daniel Berger Jones*. The presentation will be in English. ABOUT THE PLAY: “Barks” is the story of two sisters who are looking for a last space of liberty in a world where everything is more and more under control. One is a member of a revolutionary underground group, the other is working in administration. Between terrorist attacks and the dictatorship of television, they search, confront, tear and back up each other in turn.
Parallel to their story, we witness the first battles of a young soldier who discovers the fear of war. We don’t know where this action takes place, but we know that it concerns us. - Awarded in 2008 by the Swiss Authors Association ABOUT THE PLAYWRIGHT:
