Hello all,
Thank you – some of you are reaching out. It’s really too much!
Jessica Hsu, an anthropologist who has lived and worked in Haiti for twenty years, spanning the rural town of Abricots, one of the affected areas, and international aid workers, and I just published a piece, again in NACLA, trying to make sense of it and hopefully inspire smarter philanthropy. Here it is: https://nacla.org/news/2021/08/16/haiti-earthquakes-solution
Embedded in the article is a work-in-progress page listing Haitian organizations: http://www.anthropolitics.org/haiti-based-ngos/

Hello, Mark,
Thanks for alerting us to horrific situation in Haiti. The disasters, both natural and man-made, never seem to end for Haiti.
What do you think of donating to Save the Children (for Haiti)? I have been besieged by them for donations.
Stay safe, Christine
