Dear All,
⚖️ Constitution & Composition of the Internal Committee (IC) under the POSH Act, 2013

Section 4 of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 mandates every employer to constitute an Internal Committee (IC) at each workplace to address complaints of sexual harassment.

Key requirements under the Act:

* Presiding Officer: A senior woman employee
* Internal Members: At least two employees committed to women’s causes or with experience in social work / legal knowledge
* External Member: One member from an NGO, association, or a person familiar with issues relating to sexual harassment
* Gender Representation: At least 50% of the IC must be women
* Tenure: Members can hold office for up to 3 years

A properly constituted IC is essential for valid inquiry proceedings and statutory compliance under the POSH Act.
