Dear HRM Users,

In one of the recent e-mails from one of the Users, it was mentioned that - he is getting
many problems with compilation of HRM and is looking for some help.

Well........I must from heart appreciate the efforts taken by Dr. Majewski, Dr. Sultan and
many other colleagues in HRM community to make the HRM friendly and easier.

I too thought of joining the team. Though, not well experienced, but I thought - I will give
it a try. This is the first version of my tutorial PPT for the new-comers.

In my second version, i will try to address specific issues, which would be of interest to
many. However, through this PPT, I am just trying to make the new-comers understand -
what are the basic check-points (in my own way) and how to go ahead with .

After having a look on this PPT, I assume that - atleast the new users will be able to understand
where they are stuck up with. In due passage of time, I will prepare the second version
(more detailed) and giving some details on how to run the HRM and view the outputs.

At this juncture, I circulate this PPT to all the users in HRM community.

With best of luck and with hearty wishes to you and your family members on christmas.

Your feedback would be always welcome.

SUBBU.

Dear Subbu,

Thanks so much for this very nice tutorial on getting started with HRM. This is the true spirit of the HRM community which I like so much. New HRM users receive support by more experienced ones worldwide across different countries, nations and religions. In this way we are able to build bridges between people who aim at the same goal: Helping to improve weather forecasting for their regions.

Thanks again, merry Christmas and a happy new year!

Detlev

Dear Dr. Olaniyan,

From your e-mail, I understand that - your INPUT_GME2HRM file is either kept in some other directory or is missing.

Just do the following:

(1) Locate your INPUT_GME2HRM file and ensure that - this file is copied to /home/eniola.hrm_dwd_training/gme2hrm folder.
(2) Prior to submission of 'gme2hrm' command, just ensure that - your INPUT_GME2HRM file is properly modified. There are
few places, where you need to define the exact location of HRM topography and GME topography.

Let me know, if you come across some other problems and do not hesitate to contact me back.

With best wishes,

DBS.

Dear Dr. Olaniyan,

It looks to me that - when you are running the 'gme2hrm' binary, it is trying to find out 'INPUT_GME2HRM' file in the proper directory and it is not able to find so. Most likely, your directory structure should be something like this:

(1) /home/eiola/hrm_dwd_training/gme
Here you should have GME lateral boundary data. Mostly, you might have one 'd00' and 'const' folders here. And more importantly, these filenames should be proper in your INPUT_GME2HRM file.
(2) /home/eiola/hrm_dwd_training/gme2hrm
You should have INPUT_GME2HRM file here and you should run 'gme2hrm' here.
(3) /home/eiola/hrm_dwd_training/hrm
(4) /home/eiola/hrm_dwd_training/bin
(5) /home/eiola/hrm_dwd_training/lib
(6) /home/eiola/hrm_dwd_training/include
(7) /home/eiola/hrm_dwd_training/obj
(8) /home/eiola/hrm_dwd_training/src

Can you check whether you have this kind of structure ? For me to further understand your problem, I suggest you to attach your INPUT_GME2HRM file in next mail.

With best wishes,

DBS.
