# Organizations are operating in a new, multi-polar world in which economic power -- formerly concentrated among a few industrialized nations -- is distributed among multiple centers of economic and business activity. The balance of global labor supply is shifting to developing economies owing to their rapid population growth: about 97 percent of the 438 million people to be added to the global workforce by 2050 will come from developing countries.

# As the global balance of economic power is shifting, competition not only for consumers and product innovation but also for talent which can come from anywhere. Talent has now become a global commodity, fought over by multiple competitors.
