Position : Director -Testing.
Experience : 15 - 22 years
PURPOSE (why this job exists):
Position is responsible for managing the planning, research,
development, and quality functions for the companys product line.
Position is also responsible for the overall quality of the suites of
products through the continued adoption of strict software development
standards and processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Oversees Solutions Testing of all Products (driven by client needs and
the competitive landscape), Customer Care Development (driven by
product quality and service responsiveness), and Quality Assurance
(acting as the gatekeeper to ensure the highest level of standards in
delivering quality product).
Works cross-departmentally with outside vendors and clients to discuss
and resolve issues related to software testing.
Ensures software projects are completed on time and according to
product specifications and corporate quality standards, and are
properly documented.
Facilitates communication upward and across project team including
project status, justifications for variances, and technical
information (architecture, design, and implementation objectives).
Organizes projects through development of Project Plans.
Prioritizes, schedules, allocates resources in coordination with
project managers for software development projects.
Ensures that documentation gets the appropriate level of technical
review support; QA test plans meet the project requirements;
appropriate development and corporate procedures are followed.
Designs and enhances internal processes that strengthen the overall
quality of the products.
Works closely with other development departments to ensure that the
product development methodologies are aligned to ensure quality
software releases/suites are deployed in a timely manner.
Works with the Sales Team to ensure that the product has the necessary
features to maintain a competitive advantage.
Works in close collaboration with the Directors of CIS and CSS to
ensure that the installed client base is properly supported.
Works with team members to develop goals, project plans, and problem-
solving strategies.
Promotes a culture that instills a focus on the customer by
understanding their needs and delivering value with each interaction.
Communicates on a regular basis with clients and prospects to better
understand their business needs and formulates appropriate solutions
where appropriate.
Works with Development Managers to ensure adequate resources,
technology, and scheduling for software releases with full
accountability for on-time delivery of high quality product with high
client satisfaction.
Creates and oversees departmental budget.
Manages all employee related activities (i.e. hires, trains,
appraises, rewards, motivates, disciplines).
Recruits and develops Peak Performers.
Provides ongoing development, feedback, coaching, and mentoring to the
R&D Team.
All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

accepted software quality standards.

Ability to work and communicate with clients and other departments in
an effective and positive manner.
TRAINING and EXPERIENCE
B.S. Degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Software
Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Successful track record leading or managing major projects in a
software development environment.
Excellent understanding of the business applications deployed in both
large and small enterprise healthcare organizations or the ability to
apply unrelated knowledge to the healthcare industry.
Strong ability to network within the industry.
Demonstrated ability to attract talent, coach, and develop staff.
Minimum of 12+ years of software development management or related
experience with proven success at meeting deliverable deadlines at
measurable levels of quality, with at least 5 or more years in a
management role.
Experience managing Managers and/or Directors a must.
