Dear Scout Leader
Whether you’re new to scouting or you’ve been in scouts for years, its important to know the basics of camping and outdoormanship. Every boy deserves a trained leader, and getting certified in OLS (Outdoor Leadership Skills) will help you better lead and teach your scouts as well as being required for unit camping.
If you or your unit has an assistant scoutmaster/den leader, a new Scout dad who loves camping, a new camping chairman, or someone else from your pack who wants or needs to become OLS/OWLS or BALOO trained for your unit, fill out the attached form and mail it in with a check to:

OLS (Outdoor Leadership Skills) is required for Boy Scout and Venture Scout leaders who want to lead a campout
OWLS (Outdoor Weblos Leadership Skills) is required for Weblos leaders who are taking their Weblos on campouts as a den. The combined OLS/OWLS class allows you to be trained for both Weblos, and Boy Scout camping.
BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) is required for Cub Scout leaders who want to go camping at other than Cub and Family campouts.
We are opening up the classes to all leaders in the council and we need people to register by Friday in order to reserve your spot as we need to order food for those participating.
