To Prof Ajoy Roy,
President HRCBM Bangladesh National Chapter
Dhaka, Bangladesh

Date: 01/25/2015

Attn:  Mr. Rabindranath Trivedi, Secretary General HRCBM Bangladesh National Chapter, Board of Directors of HRCBM Bangladesh National Chapter and all members & wellwishers of HRCBM Bangladesh chapters.

Dear Prof Ajoy Roy,

I take the privilege to write you this open letter inviting others to take note on your recent discussion with Mr. Manik Paul, Executive Director, HRCBM-Europe who on behalf of me met with you regarding the reorganization of HRCBM’s Bangladesh National Chapter at Dhaka to advance our organizational aspiration of better serving marginalized people of Bangladesh. This is a necessary step towards implementing organization’s goals and strengthens its instrumentality.

I understand that following matters are discussed as furnished below for which actions will be taken with immediate effect to:

·         Structure of the committee needs to be configured with the positions of President (Iconic) , Advisory board, Executive committee and members;

·         Prof Ajoy Roy will be our Honorary President and national icon to lead the organization.

·         Advisory board would be comprised of academics, professionals, bureaucrats, lawyers and businessmen;

·         Members of Executive committee would be comprised of comparatively young, energetic, dedicated and educated people those who understand the dynamics of the human rights movement;

·         General members should have understanding and urge towards minority human rights issues;

·         An precise organogram needs to be developed with all contacts of the advisors, executives  and members;

·         Local funds should be raised to cover the day to day expenditures of the local chapters (both Bangladesh and district chapters). Foreign finance can be provided on credible project basis approved by the overseas chapters and head office (USA);

·         No direct contacts from any district level member to the head office or overseas executives would be encouraged. All  organizational requirements or needs have to be channelized through the executives of Bangladesh National chapter.

·         A search committee comprising of 20/25 members would be formed with  a few existing executive committee members and  members from the creditable  personalities of the community;

·         MR. Manik Paul, Executive Director of HRCBM-Europe  will work with Prof Ajoy Roy, President of HRCBM Bangladesh National Chapter to form the search committee;

·         Central  Executives (USA) will define the responsibilities of different committees  (president, advisors and executives)  and facilitate the search  committee to form a new effective and viable committee;

·         Overseas chapters can also suggest the search committee in finding the right candidates to the committee formation process: Time limit for the final list is 3 months.

I am delighted by this undertaking and hope that together we will stabilize HRCBM to provide the institutional stanchion to our community: to unify, serve and to upheld their rights advancing the economic and social grandeur. It is with this abstraction of magnanimous serving that I request yours and all of HRCBM members /well-wishers’ kind cooperation and leadership to immediately formalize steps to the reorganizations.  I have requested Mr. Manik Paul, Executive Director of HRCBM-Europe to materialize the formation of search committee during his stay in Bangladesh. Please extend your assistance to him.

Appreciate reading this letter and hoping to hear from you soon.

Thanks

Dhiman Deb Chowdhury
President, HRCBM
On behalf of Board of Directors, HRCBM-Central, USA.
