Reported cases of crime against women in India (Molestation, Dowry, Rape, Domestic Violence, and Kidnapping) have been on the rise. According to National Crime Records Bureau data, incidents of rape have gone up from 21,467 in 2008 to 24,923 in 2012. Kidnapping and abduction has gone up from 22,939 in 2008 to 38,262 in 2012. Of late there is an unprecedented spurt of such cruel incidents laid against women hence the need to create awareness and call to action to safeguard women against such cruelties. This petition calls for citizens to stand up to the crime and fight against any injustice to women.
How you can make a difference?
You can be voice to create change online and offline by spreading awareness on women's safety and her rights in society/workplace/home among your friends, relatives and general public. You can organize various events in workplace, schools and colleges on issues related to women empowerment.
A simple act of support, care and respect from your side would do a world of good for her.
