BusinessCase Competition (BIZ)

The Business Case Competition brings together High Potentials from the fields of business studies, management and economics.

They are challenged to produce solutions for a concrete case within a few hours. This case is usually covering a business related theme relevant to the economic development in South-Eastern Europe.Solutions are presented by the students to a panel of academic experts and representatives of the business world.

Previous BIZ Cases:

2008 – Vienna Insurance Group: Sales and Marketing strategy for VIG in South-Eastern Europe

2007 - ERSTE Bank:Wealth@age: Promoting provisions for sustainable wealth in CEE

Law Moot Court (LMC)

The Law Moot Court is a simulation of a trial before the International Court of Justice. The students are confronted with a fictitious dispute between two states. The main aim of the LMC competition is to provide the law students with the possibility to gain in depth understanding of theInternational Public Law and the procedural issues before the International Court of Justice.

The Law Moot Court brings together outstanding law students. The participants represent the states in the dispute through oral pleadings before a panel of judges. These pleadings are based on the application to the International Court of Justice to be prepared and submitted by the students in the form of memorials prior to the competition. The judge panels consist of three to five legal experts from universities and institutions that ensure a professional approach to the case solving and a highlevel of legal debate.

Previous LMC Cases

2007 - The case of Coca Crops

2006- The case of River Wild

2005- Human Trafficking

2003- Illicit Trafficking

ICT Case Competition (ICT)

Senior level students of information and communication technology who have the opportunity to participate in the Balkan Case Challenge are challenged to produce solutions for the ICT case by putting themselves in the position of representatives of a consulting company in the field of ICT.

4) Interview with our Local Coordinator Sumeja Tulic

Since when are you working for the BCC?

My name is Sumeja Tulic and I am a BCC Alumni. After graduating from Law faculty, in October 2008, I was happy to read somewhere on the internet that WUS Austria Office Sarajevo has an open vacancy for the BCC Coordinator.

What was your motivation to start working for BCC?

My motivation to start working for BCC came out of the positive experience that I lived having competed in the sub competition and the finals in Viennain 2007.

Which element of the BCC leaves the most important trace for you in your country?

BCC in Bosnia and Herzegovina presents a rare opportunity for motivated students to meet colleagues from all B-H universities, get very useful trainings, compete and have fun.

Given your experience in the last years - as participant and as organiser of the BCC - which tips do you find most valuable for the participants?

What I would advise future participants of BCC is that they should do their part of the work :

  1. on time,
  2. without stress,
  3. the best they can

And the results will be really good!
