Bizarre.. I've never heard that one before. "Magick" is a spelling
popularized by Aleister Crowley, an early twentieth century magician who has
a
somewhat sinister reputation among people who haven't read his works, but
who
really wasn't that bad. (A bit insane, perhaps, but in a very intelligent
and
creative way.)
Of course, "Wiccan tradition" is something of an oxymoron. There are very
few standards that apply to most practitioners of the religion, and the
terminology you describe isn't one of them. I *suppose* if you think
Crowley
and all that O.T.O. stuff was bad, you might think "magick" was bad, but
that's very fuzzy thinking IMO, and certainly not a tenet of the religion.
I've seen magic spelled "magick," "majick," "magyck," and all sorts of other
goofy ways. I think that's all sorta flaky, but that's just me. >8->
(But then, I also don't hold with the whole "white magic/black magic" school
that floats around in some circles. Magic is like water; it isn't "good" or
"bad," it's how you use it that counts.)
