Today I noticed that my custom plugins are no longer working. I decided to try and re-install flash. I removed the plugins from the directory manually then started again. I downloaded the NPAPI version from adobe (pictured). I then extracted the files and copied the plugin (libflashplayer.so) to firefox's plugin path ($MOZ_PLUGIN_PATH, which for me was /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins). I then restarted firefox. However, the shockwave flash plugin is not present in the plugins tab. This is odd as it was a couple of days ago before I redid this. Sites like newgrounds worked perfectly. Back when flash was working, I noticed on some sites that used html5, it would instead try to use flash. For a whille, the openh264 was stuck on "will be installed shortly." Now when I go to those sites, it will show the thumbnail, but not play. Youtube videos still work, however. In fact, it's really the only video site that still works. Was there a dramatic change in the past couple of days or something? I didn't even update firefox myself, this happened seemingly out of nowhere.I'll post my about:support data in the hopes that it might help? would post here, but it said it was too long... :/ According to this article: -US/kb/install-flash-plugin-view-videos-animations-games in theory, it should still work. However, despite installing flash and restarting firefox... no shockwave flash plugin is present in about:plugins

Starter showed me that an Update to the flash player was going to be installed with RunOnce at my next reboot. This coincided with an automatic Firefox update. I have just uninstalled Flash player successfully from this Windows 10 machine. Google suggests that this version of the Flashplayer is that one used in Firefox?
I was able to delete the referenced file associated with the player update as well, but there are many other references to flash still in my registry. I have enough experience to help myself here, but I really would like to know Mozilla's official position on the above Q.
i have been through exactly the same situation. what solved my problem was to install adobe flash player plugin for NPAPI. Modern web browsers like Google Chrome and Firefox are often distributed with builtin flash player plugin. So Chrome/Firefox works well does not ensure that you have the proper flash plugin installed properly systemwide, which is needed by Qt5WebKit to enable local plugin support for Flash content.
I have a problem in displaying an inventory status Dashboard as you can see in the attachement. Although I installed adobe flash player as per its requirement, still not functioning. Any idea on this? I would appreciate if any one can help.
A standalone version can be installed with the flashplayer-standaloneAUR package, which continues to work without a time bomb. For the browsers that still support it, flashpluginAUR (NPAPI) and pepper-flashAUR (PPAPI) provide the last plugin from Adobe but patch it to remove the "kill switch" from it.
Adobe provides a nice tool that uninstalls all versions of 32-bit and 64-bit Flash Player NPAPI and PPAPI in one sweep. That Adobe tool is available here: -player/kb/uninstall-flash-player-windows.html

sdfox7 ... thanks for the link and the information. I usually look for the term 'NPAPI' for the K-Meleon and Pale Moon download. Getting harder to find all these correct flash player downloads. I don't remember that 1.1 MB short download from earlier downloads, maybe it was there last month.
I think this is a common problem so help me pls, i installed on my PC the version 23 for firefox NPAPI for flash player, but i don't know what to do, where i can find the plug in NPAPI in Maxthon 5? and why after installation nothing changed?
EDIT (2014/11/13): I've been able to new get the PPAPI version of flash working with firefox using a wrapper called freshplayer. i-rinat/freshplayerplugin GitHub It would still be better in my eyes if VMware supported a PPAPI plugin but Its better than nothing.
Hah! Remember how long it took Adobe to produce a 64bit-version of flashplayer for _any_ platform? There was an interview with a head developer who was whining on how hard it was, with all those different assemblers and such.
The simple fact was, the Adobe flashplayer team was a horde of incompetent nincompoops. Maybe still is. In any case, that is a far more likely cause for lacking support for .
