Pixelated or 8-bit version of the Wingdings font. Created mainly as a font for Wing Ding Gaster from Undertale. This character set varies slightly from the one used in Undertale to fit my own visual preference. Only alphanumeric and regular punctuation characters are included.

9.0.0 04-09-2023It's hard to believe I'm finally done with this update. Believe it or not, the development for it actually started in October of 2021. So... yeah. Two years in development.

Anyways! Let's get to what matters. What even is in this update?

First of all, I remade EVERYTHING for the text box generator. Literally, not a single line of code has been untouched. The whole architecture is different, it works faster and is easier to maintain. I did the same with the javascript that makes the textbox UI interactive: everything got redesigned and rewritten.

But let's talk about what you WILL notice. The whole User Interface has been redesigned!

The page now has categories that you can collapse whenever you're not using them to free some space on your screen. There are some options that you rarely change more than once, so I hope this is a change some of you find useful.

Inside these new categories, some options changed into button switches and the color dropdowns are now custom color selectors! This has been a long-awaited feature that I hope you guys enjoy.

The character lists can now be grouped in categories in case of being very large (like in Deltarune), all options have help buttons, the text box stacker is brand new, lots and lots of bugs have been squashed, fonts can now display special characters (if the font includes it), etc.

I could go on forever, but I will let you figure out the rest. Did I even mention the new text editor? Then just go and check it out yourself! What are you waiting for?

Full change log below!

8.2.1 07-10-2021I added the bug fix thing as if it was a simple thing, but it's actually a huge change in the way the generator works internally. For now you won't notice much since characters that were not recognised before will show up as a blank rectangle if they aren't included in the used font, but if they are included in the future they will be able to be used normally.

5.0.0 13-12-2018The mode selector is here! You can now swap between the regular and the Dark World (deltarune) mode. The Dark World mode adds shadows behind the text and transforms colored text into gradients. It works in every color and avaliable font.

A bunch of new dialogue lines with characters from the Dark World were added to the random box button and will show up when the Dark World mode is selected.

Added Noelle to Deltarune.

Added Berdly to Deltarune.

Added Rouxls Kaard to Deltarune.

The bug that made the boxes not colorable has been solved.

The spoiler warning for Deltarune was removed.

4.5.0.1 12-03-2018Updated Underswap+ Papyrus' sprites. Removed looking-up and closed eyes, and added a bunch of new expressions and variations.

Added new expressions for Underswap+ Flowey.

Fixed a bunch of bugs related to default fonts/cases and expression names (thanks for reporting all these, ThePikachuPirata!)

4.4.2 09-02-2018Updated Team Switched Underswap Sans' sprites and added a few new expressions.

Updated the Comic Sans font to make it more faithful to Undertale's. There might be some missing characters, this will be solved in a future update.

4.0.1 18-12-2017Fixed a bug where Underswap Sans' pissed expression used the angry sprite when generating a box.

Fixed a bug where Asriels' couraged expression used the sad sprite when generating a box.

Corrected the letter spacing in the Determination font.

4.0.0 14-12-2017The character selection system has been completelly rewritten. It's an internal change, so you won't notice much of a difference, but it will make my work WAY easier (and that means more good stuff for you).

A bunch of new alias for characters and expressions were added, which can be used when using the generator with external tools. You will learn more about it when the new developer mode comes in the next update.

Undertale and Undertale (custom) were merged.

Added Mettaton (box) in Undertale.

Added Temmie in Classic Underswap.

Added Flowey in Classic Underswap.

Updated the sprites for Classic Underswap Sans and added a couple of new expressions.

Updated the sprites for Classic Underswap Papyrus and added a bunch of new expressions.

Added a bunch of new expressions for Primus Underfell Flowey.

Added a bunch of new expressions for Primus Underfell Toriel.

Added a bunch of new expressions for Suddenchanges Alphys.

The Remembrance universe was disabled temporally. It will come back in the next update.

A bug with the Determination font that made it not behave as a monospace font has been fixed.

The line break was improved a little bit, but it still has some problems. In the next update, I'll rewrite the word size detection system to make it 100% accurate.

Now you can see the name of the creator of the selected sprite right below its preview.

Custom characters now have a default font, as well as an option to activate the asterisk (or not) by default.

The developer mode was disabled, cause a new site that will do the same (but better) will be avaliable soon.

2.7.5 30-09-2017Sans and Papyrus (TS!Underswap) were updated, and all their expressions were added.

Small corrections in Papyrus' font (n and o won't appear lower than what they should anymore).

2.2.0 08-08-2017Added the font selector.

Added EarthBound's font.

Added the new colors Catty and Bratty

Papyrus' font is fully functional again! (Thanks to Carter Sande's excelent Pixelated Papyrus font.)

Added the WingDings font. (Thanks to Sigmath6 por his Pixelated WingDings font)

Normally when installing WPS Office (aka Kingsoft Office) on Linux there'd be missing fonts, I'd download them from the website ( -community.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=13), put them in the /home/.fonts directory, and update the font cache. However, I get a strange error now after doing this that says it still doesn't detect that the Symbol and Wingdings fonts have been installed, despite them already being have using this method. How can I fix this? Thanks.

Hi, were you able to resolve this issue? My kingsoft installation (alpha16) doesnt detect the symbol and wingding fonts either. I have copied them everywhere I can think of, including the recommended /usr/share/fonts/wps-office

The text in your publication uses a font that is not web-ready. When you send this publication in e-mail, Publisher converts the text to an image. The image quality will be low for people who can see, and tools such as screen readers will not be able to read it at all.

It might be fine after more practice, but the calligraphy fonts are nearly impossible for me to parse. For the pixelated ones (especially that first row), is there actually sufficient resolution to differentiate between complex kanji?

Room 264, otherwise known as room_gaster, is black and displays shaking, white text in a pixelated Wingdings font. A glitchy, robotic sound named mus_smile plays in the background, and when sped up is revealed to be Muffet's laugh reversed then played twice. The text plays random snippets of abc_123_a.ogg every time a character is typed out. Once the message ends, the screen turns black for a moment before the game closes. Unlike most of the other rooms stated here, it is not Dogchecked.

Unfortunately I could not see any mechanisms within the existing XLS nodes for specifying the default font either. The XLS Font Formatter node appears to format everything except for the actual chosen font. I could not find any other nodes that would assist directly either.

Your icon should be simple and effective, and it should reflect the style and purpose of your extension. A simple shape or letter from an interesting font works well, but detailed images and intricate fonts might not. A game will benefit from having a playful, colorful icon, whereas a more serious application may be better served by a more conservative and functional icon. For identification purposes, consider making your icon consistent with the styling and colors of your extension. Figure 1 shows some good examples.

After selecting the glyph you want from the Wingdings font, select the Text Tool inside Photoshop, as seen in Figure 7. And locate the Wingdings font in the font family dropdown top left in your viewport.

Thankfully, our iPads, iPhones and retina displays can read font-face embeds (phew!). By that premise, if your font character looks like a symbol instead of a letter, it can display crisply and clearly on retina HD screens, just like it would display any other HTML writing on the page clearly.
