Ok guys, i finally got this baby working
Here is what you have to do:
1. Extract everything using Winrar.
2. Rename the "half-life 2 episode two" folder and name it "Portal".
3. Create a shortcut of the "hl2.exe" file located in the now called
"portal" folder.
4. Right-click on that shortcut and go to Properties, in the end of the
"Target" line just add " -steam -game ep2" (notice the space before
"-steam").
You should then have something like :
X:^.....^portal^hl2.exe -steam -game ep2
(replace the "^" with the usual "slash", for some reason i can't make
slashes appear in the comment :S )
Click Okay, and launch the shortcut !

Well it seems it won't work if the folder in which the "hl2.exe" is located
has more than one word in it so basically you can put anything as long as
it's one word, and by one word I mean no spaces
[UPDATE] ALL the folder names leading to the "hl2.exe" file must NOT HAVE
ANY SPACES in them, or the shortcut won't accept adding the extra path as
mentioned in step 4
To everyone getting the "MountAppFilesystem() failed" message, make sure
when you extracted the files that you opened the "unl-ep2.rar" file and not
one of the "unl-ep2.001" files.
I unpacked it from one of the .001 files and got the same problem but as
soon as I unpacked from the .rar file (which should be done for all games
anyway) it worked no problems
This will not work:
C:\Games\Half-Life 2 Epsiode Two\half-life 2 episode
two\hl2.exe -steam -game ep2
This will work:
"C:\Games\Half-Life 2 Epsiode Two\half-life 2 episode
two\hl2.exe" -steam -game ep2
Notice the difference?

then copy the GameInfo.txt from the "ep2"dir.
to the "hl2"dir.

A onda stvarno neznam. Koristim XP.

isto je bilo i meni, ako kliknes na neki od fajlova OSIM .rar (dakle
R01, R02 itd...) onda ti pametni rar otpakira samo 11 onih GFC fajlova.
DAKLE klikni bas na RAR file i otpakiret ce ih svih 13, nakon toga igra
radi...
