Along with the reasons I previously mentioned for switching to Yahoo groups is the fact that I am able to send out a customized welcome email to new members, something that is not possible under Google groups. The current email message sent is listed below, but I do plan to make a few changes to it once I get a better feel for what is needed:
Welcome to the hq-a group at Yahoo! Groups. Be sure to check out the new member info contained on the HQ-A website at http://hq-a.weebly.com/.
You're set to connect with your group, so drop by soon.
Be sure to check out all the simple (and free) ways to
communicate, share, and discover:
* You choose when and how to stay in touch
* Swap photos, files, polls, calendars, links, and more with members
* Quickly scan new postings and browse detailed message archives
* Plus enjoy many more ways to show and tell - 24/7
So get started. Visit hq-a now.
