Hi I getting HPI in Five Dock in September 2008. Its gonna cost all
up $3445.00 which included donor fees of $920 no Medicare rebate at
all. Has anyone had this treatment for IBS? could you tell me you
experience? I am not getting it into the small intestine and I don't
know why. Any suggestions?
thanks

Cassie,

I had HPI in Five Dock in 2003. I can't say anything terribly unique
about my experience. The clinic staff were very dedicated, caring,
and helpful. My sequence was:

- Full blood panel and stool tests
- 10 days of Vancomycin and Rifampycin
- Endoscopy and Colonoscopy, with insertion of naso-gastric tube
- Two weeks of HPI

I have to have the tube removed the second day, as it was very
irritating to my throat and I had trouble sleeping because of it. I
have a deviated septum, which might be why.

HPI did not work for me, but I may try it again. If I had the funds
and proper outlook, I would consider returning to Five Dock again.

I don't know why they would skip the small intestine part. Perhaps
it's not indicated in your case for some reason. Ask them directly,
