Hey there guys

I came across your group and joined right away.

To introduce myself, Im a 24 year old male whos colitis started after
eating something. Ive been suffering for two years.

The tests ive done so far are barium meal swallow which came normal. I
was tested for mal-absorbtion syndrome which came back negative. My
blood tests came back normal. Got tested for parasites and occult
blood which came back negative. I had a colonoscopy which detected
chronic colitis. I was then tested to see which IBD i would have if
its Crohns or Ulcerative Colitis and both came back negative and this
was done via blood test. My biopsies didnt reveal anything either. I
was given Asacol and Flagyl and now Cortisone. But i refuse to take
any medication. I was on the Flagyl at first and improved but then it
came back. Then I was put on Asacol and after two months i stopped it
was givenme bad side effects. And I have been off medication for about
7 months. I have been trying the natural approch.

Now how does this work. I want to hear from experiences from people
who have done this. Im in Canada. So do I get my results that i have
so far from colitis and fax them to the CDD. And then they do a phone
interview? And if i travel there how long would i have to stay there?
How much does it cost? The reason why im asking is because I want to
know so I can start saving up. I know i should call them but I just
want to find out ASAP...lol. I just want to rid my horror of this
colitis.

Also i read the article of Dr.Borody but in his article the word cure
was used. But ive been reading posts and most people are in remission.
I was wondering why Dr.Borody article the word cure was used. And did
most people travel to Australia or did they recieve the instructions
in the mail and did it that way.

You can email me as well I just want to get to the bottom of this.

Hi and welcome,

I did not quite undestand the above, the colonscopy indicated clinical
active cronich colitis, but the histological tests from the biopsy
were negative? Also I was not aware of any blood test to distinguish
between Crohn's and UC, my understanding is that this is mainly done
via a colonoscopy, desease history and sympthoms.

Regarding medication, I had the same attitude as well -> the less
drugs the better. This year had an 8 month flare, which did not
respond to anything (tried HPI as well). In September took antibiotics
Flagyl and Ciproxin and then started on Azamun (Imuran) now I am on
175mg daily and have my life back completely! God Forbid something
should happen I will go straight for Remicade IV session, I have
decided that I will no longer suffer, life is too short! Good luck
with HPI, but remember nothing is 100%, this is really unpredicatable
desease and one should explore all options including medication.

Regards,
