Hi and welcome,
I did not quite undestand the above, the colonscopy indicated clinical
active cronich colitis, but the histological tests from the biopsy
were negative? Also I was not aware of any blood test to distinguish
between Crohn's and UC, my understanding is that this is mainly done
via a colonoscopy, desease history and sympthoms.
Regarding medication, I had the same attitude as well -> the less
drugs the better. This year had an 8 month flare, which did not
respond to anything (tried HPI as well). In September took antibiotics
Flagyl and Ciproxin and then started on Azamun (Imuran) now I am on
175mg daily and have my life back completely! God Forbid something
should happen I will go straight for Remicade IV session, I have
decided that I will no longer suffer, life is too short! Good luck
with HPI, but remember nothing is 100%, this is really unpredicatable
desease and one should explore all options including medication.
Regards,
