Dear ERT Members,

As you might already know, yesterday the World Health Organization (WHO) Pandemic alert level was raised to Phase 5.  What this means is that there have been documented cases of human-to-human spread of swine flu and that there is the imminent possibility of a pandemic.

Fannie Mae is looking towards the ERTs to help keep everyone in the know and informed with up to date and accurate information, so please visit the Corporate Resiliency Swine Flu Fact SharePoint  for updates and share this resource with your co-workers. During these critical times you can help most by staying informed and calm, while keeping your coworkers up to date on information as it comes out. As always, if you have any workplace safety questions or concern let us know at the Incident Management Center email.

Lastly, we encourage you to continue to lead by example. If you are sick or feeling ill, seek medical care and  follow your doctors advice when to return to work. If you see any of your coworkers who may be coughing and sneezing encourage them to cover their mouth and wash their hands .

As an FYI, the National Institute of Health strongly advises against giving small children Aspirin if you think they have the flu.  There is more information regarding this and other additional information on our SharePoint site . Thank you for your help and assistance during these trying times.
