Dear Homeschoolers –

I have scheduled a group to attend the second act of the Nutcracker School Shows on Thursday, December 12th (the show runs from 12:00-1:00 pm and we will need to arrive at 11:30 am).  We need a minimum of 10 students to attend and we have had a few people need to cancel.  Is anyone else 1st grade up to grade 7 or 8 interested in attending?  I am gladly chaperoning students so as many families can allow their children to attend as possible, and so far we have five adults in attendance total so your children will be in good company.

PLEASE respond ASAP if you would like to attend/would like your child to attend the show.  Student tickets are only $4 per child and payment is due to me the first week of November.  Adult seating is very limited due to the focus being on as many children attending as possible, however I will gladly try and get as many adult tickets as possible for anyone interested.

Sincerely,

Anni Killam

Hi All -

Would your 1st-6th grade student be interested in attending the Nutcracker School Show in December at the Long Center in downtown Austin? We are allowed to see one act of the two act performance of the Nutcracker for this special opportunity, and each year we alternate between which act we see. Last year we attended Act 1, so this year I am organizing a group to see Act 2.

The current available dates are Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday December 10th-12th and the performance runs an hour, from 12-1:00 pm. Each student ticket is $4, however all adult tickets are $20. We need a minimum of 10 students registered in order to attend, and I am very willing to chaperone a group of 10-15 students myself in order to make this a cost effective opportunity for families. What we did last year is meet in a group so parents could drop their students off with me at the front of the Long Center and then pick them up at the same location after the show. Several other parents attended last year also, and it was a great time for everyone who attended.

Registration starts very soon, so please let me know if you would be interested. I will need the name(s) of your child/ren, their age/grade level, and if any parents want to attend please let me know that also. Also, please let me know if there is a date from the above choices that you CANNOT attend, so we can try and find the best possible option for which day we will see the show.

Thank you so much!

Anni

Hey, Anni. I think we'll do that this year. Bryan's studying modern era music this year and just learned about Tchaikovsky this week. Count us in.
