I'm so excited to know this group still exists!

2 Questions:

1. Any recommendations for a unit study on slavery? Or a good resource for unit studies in general (trying something new this year ).

2. Anyone ever done a study of hymns?

There's a discussion regarding hymn study over on the SCM forum with some resource links. I remembered you had asked about that.

I used to do a loosey goosey hymn study with Bryan using the lists on Ambleside online. I just looked for youtube videos to listen to the hymns.

Have you found anything for the unit study? I remember finding some civil war unit studies a while back when I was looking for history resources. If you still need it I'll see if I still have those saved somewhere. Currclick might be a good place to look for topical unit studies.

Lisa,

 

Jacque has an old one-year devotional called Great Songs of the Faith.  You might could use it as a basis for a hymn study.  She also has a book called The gift on Music - Great Composers and their Influence.  The latter is about a Christian look at classical music and the great composers.  Let me know if either of these might be useful.
