Hi,
I created a pair of new videos of the solution and
mesh which are here:
http://hpfem.math.unr.edu/people/pavel/work/mag.avi,
http://hpfem.math.unr.edu/people/pavel/work/mesh.avi.
They are still jumpy but one can see what one needs to
see. Brian, is this periodic behavior widely known?

Pavel,

Nice, what is the difference between these and the previous ones? In
terms of the periodicity, I think that yes, it is known. It should be
pretty simple for work out a simple analytical expression for the
period. That is one way that we can check to make sure we are solving
the equations correctly and I plan on doing that. I am finishing
grading finals today, so I almost done with the quarter. Whew.

Cheers,

Brian

Hi Brian,
there is no big difference compared to the previous videos,
just the initial distribution is more local. I presented this
during a lecture in Dortmund and the people liked it very
much.
Best,

Pavel
