•September 16, 2015 - Submission Deadline
HiPC 2015 will feature the 8th Student Research Symposium on High Performance Computing (HPC) aimed at stimulating and fostering student research, and providing an international forum to highlight student research accomplishments. The symposium will also provide exposure to students in the best practices in HPC in academia and industry. The one-day symposium, to be held on day one of the conference (Wednesday, December 16, 2015) will feature brief presentations by student authors on their research followed by a poster exhibit. Invited talks by leading HPC researchers/ practitioners will be included in the SRS program. Experts scheduled to speak include Vianney Koelman from Shell whose talk is titled Bits, Bytes, Barrels: HPC in the Energy Industry, and Raghu Ramakrishnan from Microsoft whose talk is titled Big Data@Microsoft. The Conference Reception and Student Symposium Poster Exhibit will provide an opportunity for students to interact with HPC researchers and practitioners (and recruiters) from academia and industry.
•Papers solicited in all areas of high-performance computing (see webpage for list of topics).
•Papers author is a student during any part of the calendar year 2015.
•Papers not to exceed five (5) pages; submit online PDF format through EDAS.
•Papers judged on technical merit, quality, relevance to the symposium, and related parameters.
•Travel support subject to availability of funding will be provided to student authors.

HiPC 2015 STUDENT PARALLEL PROGRAMMING CHALLENGE

•August 31, 2015 – Challenge problem released and Team Registration opens.
HiPC 2015 will host the first parallel programming challenge for students in India and abroad. The event will be geared towards students and will provide an introduction to parallel programming concepts and implementations. The purpose of this challenge is to highlight the value of code parallelism, parallel algorithms, and the role of right mathematics in solving real-world problems. The top three student teams will be selected based on the evaluation criterion outlined below and will be invited to present their solution at the HiPC 2015 conference.
•September 14, 2015 – Final Registration deadline for teams.
•September 16, 2015 – Team given access to cluster for self-evaluation. Mentor forum opens.
•September 30, 2015 – Final Submission Deadline.

The HiPC annual conference serves as a forum for researchers from around the world to present their current research efforts and findings and acts as a venue for stimulating discussions and highlighting high performance computing (HPC) related activities in Asia. The first day of the HiPC conference will feature Workshops, a Student Research Symposium (SRS) and several Academic Birds-of-a-Feather sessions. The final three days of the conference will feature a technical program that includes daily keynote speakers and presentation of peer reviewed papers chosen from submissions from all over the world. On the two middle days of HiPC 2015, there will be a full program of exhibits and related industry events including BoF’s and an Industry, Research and Users Symposium (IRUS).
