R.L.M. Software is releasing a full line of iPhone HP emulators for
$9.99 each (the 11C and 12C is already up, others are following).

What are your advantages over nearly identical products that is 1/2
your price?

I'm not trolling, I really want to know. If it justified, I have no
problem spending the extra $10 (You should see my iTunes app bills!)

One thing that would definitely get me to buy right now is a togglable
15c/16c (press the icon/logo and toggle between calcs, would be ideal)

That would be worth $19.99..

Hi Steve,

One advantage of these calculators is that they use the same arithmetic algorithms as the standard HP calculators, and provide identical results and accuracy.

I can't speak to what method the RLM products use to implement their algorithms, but there does appear to be evidence that bugs may be present leading to inaccurate results in some cases.  The 12c date function is one example that comes to mind.

I don't really have a comment on a possible combined product in the future, but the idea has crossed my mind.  Unfortunately, the app store is very basic in its capability.  It would have to be a new product with its own price and there's no way at the moment to discount it for owners of existing models.

I will say that right now my priority is adding features to the existing models.  I have been paying close attention to the comments in this group and the reviews I've been getting in the App Store.  Version 1.1 primarily fixed a bug in the on/off display updating.  Version 1.2 will add some requested features.  I hope to finish it this week and get it submitted for Apple's approval, but no promises -- I'm on jury duty this week!

I second this. I use both calculators equally and the app store prices
for the pair are prohibitive.

Wohoo.
Checking every day now for Version 1.2 update
This is the only iPhone App that makes me check for updates.
Jury duty: Hope you get a quick case, or get dismissed.

As an owner of both Tom's and RLM's 11C products (don't ask why) I can
say that Tom's is definitely more accurate.

Eg:

On RLM's: 1.45 <g> ->H yields the result 1.7611 (incorrect).

Same on Tom's yields 1.7500 (correct).

The RLM version is nice in that it allows you to turn the key click
sound off and inspect the contents of memory by tapping the logo in
the top left corner, but if the results provided are wrong then these
extras are not much good.
