This is very similar to a new component that I am trying in my folklore class, utilizing Story Map, and Arc Gis mapping. So I am really interested in looking at the project! Thanks for posting.

Thanks for sharing, Laurie! This is such a great project. My colleague Sojin Kim and I participated with Sehila Casper of Latinos in Heritage Conservation on a panel on the importance of oral histories and historic preservation for the Trust's PastForward Conference this past November. I loved learning about the Abuelas project - I'm excited to see they're using  ArcGIS StoryMaps to help tell the stories.

I collaborated with Esri StoryMaps to curate a custom story map highlighting the stories of some of the NEA National Heritage Fellows. Here's the link in case anyone is interested: Masters of Tradition: A Cultural Journey Across America.
