Good Morning.
Our list has had a bit of activity, and I’d like to help to reinvigorate Historic Preservationists’ connections to AFS at our Albuquerque meeting. I’m wondering if some of members of our group are making presentations that are relevant to our interests.
To that end … and perhaps some shameless self-promotion … I’m scheduled for a session on November 7th (TH) at 8:30 AM. It’s part of a larger panel that’s titled “Folklore and Intangible Cultural Heritage.” The other presenters are Mirva Johnson and Bhumika Singh, and the discussant is Todd Richardson. It’s preliminarily scheduled for Tesuque.
My presentation will be primarily a photo essay with small narration. It’s titled “Illustrating Intersections Between Intangible Cultural Heritage and Historic Preservation through Arkansas Folklife.”
If anyone has other presentations that are planned, I’d enjoy hearing about them.

Morning all,
I’ll be presenting “Private Creation in Public Space: The Challenge of Built Environments by Self-taught Artists” on Friday morning, November 8. And while I haven’t yet put together my presentation, I suspect that preservation will be part of it. These sites are always a challenge!
All best, and see you in ABQ!
