I just bought the Void Elite Surround. The Mic is Great! those on discord hear me so clearly. However, EVERYTHING SOUNDS HORRIBLE! no matter how I change the EQ, settings, etc. Everything has a digitally, metallic sound. Aditionally, the spacing of the sound is bad causing everything to sound flat... like listening to AM radio vs FM radio. I know it's as a result of the ICUE software.
If I use the headset via the 3.5mm jack, audio sounds AMAZING! but through the USB adapter so I can use the Mic at the same time on my PC, and everything sounds HORRIBLE! The problem is I can't use the mic when using the 3.5mm jack on my PC!... so... only good when listening to music (which is an absolute necessity to actually enjoy music).
Corsair desperately needs to work with a sound engineer to redo the tuning and audio quality of the drivers/settings for this headset. Sadly, I'm going to have to try and return the headset or sell them to go with another brands product if Corsair has no intention to fix the issue... but from what I gather on other forum posts, both on these forums and elsewhere on the internet, they have no intention of doing. THat is sad/pathetic... I was hoping to only have to run ICUE as all my other periphrials and my liquid cooler for my CPU are all corsair.
I have bought a new Virtuoso, they had issues because suddenly it had distorted sound, which was really weird. The only thing I could do was to switch to USB mode and then back to wireless. I've sent them back and got a new pair from Amazon because I thought I had a faulty one.
On the other hand, since the ICue update last night in 3.26.95, I have the dongle that flashes red for a few seconds and then goes off but the headset works perfectly in wireless. Probably another bug.
First - after the iCUE update I got the red blinking receiver issue which was red blinking and then turns off. Headset was in wireless mode and was working... but I noticed exact the scratchy sound as you recorded.
I tried x times to pair the Virtuso with the receiver, this always failed, the prompt "connect with USB bla bla" doesn't disappear, so I have always to abort and after click again on "Initiate"- got the message "PAIRING SUCCESSFULL!". The receiver was white blinking for a short period of time, then turns red and then off. The headset was working in wireless mode btw.
I have a virtuoso that will work normal and then suddenly plays a loud whining sound and sometimes goes plays a super distorted sounds, i have to reconnect my headset to get rid of it (i use my virtuoso with USB).
I had that when the headset went into sleep mode it disappeared for some applications so when it woke back up I wouldn't get sound in say Discord for example. I disabled sleep mode in iCue (I quit the application afterwards) altogether and the issue went away. Not sure it sleeps in wired mode, though.
HWiNFO64 also reports that the CPU fan speed is mostly constant @approx. 950rpm, but with drops every so often (around every 1minutes-2minutes) to around 750rpm. At the same time corsair link reports pump speed @1900rpm with drops to 1770rpm (I guess there is some kind of approximation filter on corsair link).
I've tried reconnecting the cooling unit to the second CPU fan, reconnecting the USB to another USB port and all kind of different configurations but can't seem to find any problems and therefore I would be grateful for some help on the issue.
No, I don't think that it's dangerous for the cooler, just annoying AF. I'm more concerned as to why it's happening too; it really shouldn't be. The only other thing that I can think of is that the driver is crashing ... but why? Can you post logs?
If you are absolutely sure that no other apps are accessing the device - usually monitoring tools but can also be anything that controls RGB - then you should check your USB drivers and make sure that they are up to date and make sure XHCI handoff is enabled in the BIOS.
From there, you can also test another cable. That cooler uses a standard mini USB cable ... so you can get a known good mini USB to USB-A cable and route it to an external USB port. This will help determine if it's a cable issue.
I've started uninstalling everything that could potentialy control RGB. Ended up uninstalling Corsair Link and the drivers stopped restarting. The fans are working and looking at HWinfo, the CPU temp is ok. Didn't hear an USB disconnect sound from the time I've uninstalled Corsair Link.
I just got myself the new Vengeace 2100 headset the other day. I was a bit disappointed at first, because there was sort of a crackling sound in the headset, specially notable on the ring tone and conversation in Skype (that frequency i guess).
Now, I fiddled around a bit the sound settings in windows and found out that changing from CD-quality to DVD-quality (44100 Hz to 48000 Hz) TOTALLY GOT RID of the crackling sound. This might be a no-brainer for some, but I guess there are more like me out there who didn't know this.
So here's the problem. In the ticket I made for the original 2000, they asked me how my 2100 is going and for the tracking number. I told them that the 2100 is not going well and explained them the situation. I also gave them the tracking number. After that I have not gotten any responses since the 18th!!! (the 2000 has been delivered per UPS) Its like they got their product so screw me.
This is getting extremely frustrating as it seems I cannot open another express RMA until they close this ticket. When I call in all I get are voice mail's and zero call backs. I'm stuck with a non working headset and absolutely ZERO response from corsair!!! I'm fed up with this ***** and wanting my money back if this doesn't get resolved PRONTO! I'm a paying customer and should not be treated like this!
I have a similar problem. I just got the 2100H for Christmas, however it works like crap with respect to the mic. If I am further than 1-2 feet away from the USB dongle it completely drops out, but even close to the dongle is on and off.
Considering the 1000's of posts about the problems with this product, I would seriously expect a company that wanted to exist years from now, rather than the typical accountant run company that only looks 1 quarter ahead, to actually test their product before releasing it.
be sure to plug in back usb port, be sure to install software as admin, & also be sure to set the device in sound properties, you right click sound bottom right in taskbar then click playback devices>right click on void headset and set default comunnications & also click default device, both VOID :)
When I plugged in my wireless VOID, windows recognized it and I had on the playback devices (right click on the speaker) the headset earphone as Corsair VOID RGB Wireless. In addition the device manager had under Sound, video and game controllers the Corsair VOID RGB Wireless device.
After installing CUE (1.15.36) I lost the Corsair under playback devices, and there was a yellow exclamation mark next to Corsair VOID in the device Manager. CUE would recognize the VOID, but Windows7 would not.
I am also having a similar issue, but with the WIRED version, Corsair VOID USB. Have uninstalled/reinstalled CUE and restarted the computer 6 times (once for each USB port on my comp, and none of them have worked. I can use the CUE software to change the color on my headphones, and hear the startup beeps, but no audio or mic input.
I got headphones like 2 months ago, they work great in the beginning. Then around 3 weeks ago I reinstalled system to Windows 7. They worked only if I didn't installed CUE. After 1,5 week I installed it just to check and it worked, could've changed setup and lights. Now, 2 days ago I had to reinstall system again. Of course headphones worked only without CUE, but today even tho I didn't installed it, there's no sound. System is finding headphones, there's sound in my settings, but nothing comes from the headphones. There's even that smal green line going up and down in sound settings that means the sound is coming from somewhere, but not going throu my headphones. I don't know what to do. If someone finds solution, please reply.
I updated iCUE to 3.18.77 a few days ago and that's when I began having problems with my Void RGB Wired Headset. When I boot up my PC I get no sound, and my audio player refuses to play any audio file.
Following the above instructions does return the headset to normal functionality but now I have to do this every single time I turn on my PC. I also just ran my win10 updates so everything is fine. Not sure what the problem is.
EDIT: Just to update. I removed the headset from the USB port it was plugged in to (I used a USB 2.0 port that's in my PC case for 2 years and I had no trouble with the headset) and I plugged it into a USB 3.0 port on my motherboard. I exited iCUE and restarted the software. No change. I can hear the three beeps in the headset but I don't hear the voice saying "Mic on". And as usual I get no audio from anything. I restarted my PC and I got the same result. Seems like I'll have to remove the device via the settings every time I start my PC now, and reconnect the headset since that's the only thing that makes the headset work.
