Dear Hoy Moon Formulaic ,

I bought Hoy Moon Formulaic. This is very good soft. I came to like
it.
By the way, I have a question.

I Input an equation of y=sin(x/180*PI) so that I like x to be in dec.
Input y=0.5 then I expect x would be 30deg.
However, x was overflowed.

If you could suggest something, could you please let me know it ?

As you know, y=sin(x/180*PI) is very simple equation.
What I actually use equation is rather complicated.

Dear All,

I tried much simpler equation of
y=sin(x)
I input y=1 then made Formulaic obtain x.
Howerver, Formulaic failed to obtain answer.
Could you tell me how to make Formulaic obtain correct answer of PI/
2 ?

Hello T.Tsuru,

Thank you for your interest in Formulaic.

We investigated the issue you reported, and can confirm that Formulaic
won't currently find a solution to that equation. Formulaic searches
for a solution using various guesses for the variable you are solving.
For any pair of guesses, if the result for one guess is positive, and
the result for the other is negative, it will narrow its search
between those guesses, and eventually finds the solution. With your
sample equation, both guesses yield a result with the same sign, and
Formulaic thus doesn't believe that there is a solution.

We'll investigate adapting the algorithms which search for a solution
so that Formulaic will find a solution to this type of equation; but
we're not aware of a "quick fix", and will thus not be addressed until
the next major release.

Kind regards,
Hoy Moon

Hello T.Tsuru,

Thank you for your interest in Formulaic.

All angles should be specified in "radians", not "degrees".

Kind regards,
Hoy Moon

Thank you for your reply.

Formulaic is very important for me.

I have been using HP200LX. It has a very good and importnt software,
"HPcalc". This software enable us to solve an equation. HPcalc was
essential for me to have HP200LX.

If there were no software like HPcalc or Formulaic, I did not change
HP200LX
to iPod touch.

So, I am asking you to kindly improve Formulaic.

Regards,
T.Tsuru
