Notification Priorities and "emergency" alerts

Hi Howl Talk!

I'm an avid prowl user, but was recommended howl by a friend. I really
really prefer the UI of howl, however there are two drawbacks.

#1: Priorities. At first I thought howl didn't support priorities
until I looked at its API, but they are there. Unfortunately these
seem to be completely ignored by the app! Notifications don't show
priorities, nor does the app customize its alerts based on these
priorities. Why support them in the first place? Prowl plays different
sounds based on the priority, and I would love Howl to do the same.
This seems like an obvious feature that is lacking in Howl.
#2: Emergency Alerts. Continuing on with #1, Howl seems to always play
one sound and then fall silent. This is fine for lower priority
notifications, however for "emergency" notifications (priority +5)
this is bad. Prowl's highest priority seems to repeatedly play the
sound until I acknowledge the notification. This has the benefit of
telling me that something happened if I'm away from my phone. (eg: my
server goes offline while I'm in the shower. When I get out, I want to
hear my phone freaking out until I acknowledge this notification).

At this time, although I prefer Howl for many reasons (sorting by app/
network/etc, icons) I can't switch to it because of my reason #2
above. I'm sure many others are in a similar boat.

Hope this feedback is useful,

Funny, I was just poking around in Growl today, and wondered why Howl
didn't support priorities! I agree with both items you mentioned. I
feel like it's been forever since we saw any features added to Howl.

I also want to see these features in Howl!

This is the only major item left to make me feel that Howl is a
complete solution for me. Your UI for displaying alerts is great but I
need to be able to configure sounds and vibration per app/priority.
Until then, I may need to let Prowl linger on my phone alongside Howl.

Thx

I like it, too, very much. I've been a long time Prowl user, but wanted Howl for my iPad. So far, I am very happy that you are actively developing things like the Safari extension.

What about a Mac OS X widget? Prowl has one and I find it awesomely awesomer. And I mean that.

Thanks Howl devs!

Yeah I completely agree. Howl is so close to being the perfect solution. Even the new Prowl update is lacking. I prefer Howl anyways.
